During a short road trip, I slipped Good Poems, selections by Garrison Keillor, into my car’s CD player. Thanks to such inspiration, poetry became part of my own repertoire that very day.
Much like my stories, my poems seem to revolve around a special memory, a simple observation, or a colorful word, phrase, or image that keeps coming to mind again and again. I can’t help but put my pen to paper to discover a poem’s final destiny.
